Another chapter in a long list of accomplishments began when Helen Vallozzi started making gnocchi in her basement in 1955. Helen quickly outgrew her home operation and moved to a small restaurant in Latrobe where she not only sold gnocchi, but decided to serve them to guests as well. Helen’s son Ernie soon became involved in the fast growing business and they chose to move into a larger space in Greensburg. Ernie’s son, Julian, expanded the tradition to downtown Pittsburgh in 2012.

Vallozzi’s Greensburg has been a fine dining destination in Western Pennsylvania for over four decades. Ten years ago the Vallozzi family decided to continue to expand their culinary reaches into downtown Pittsburgh.

Vallozzi’s Pittsburgh has all the elements that one would expect from a Vallozzi family restaurant.

An enticing menu comprised of Vallozzi family traditions including homemade pastas, Helen's gnocchi, our famous pizza, fresh steaks, and seafood. The menu also boasts a number of Italian meats and cheeses flown in from Italy weekly and served from their Fresh Mozzarella bar.

The wine list features mostly Italian wines with a smattering of California gems. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. Our establishment is an expansive space that has been made into several well-appointed dining rooms. The lounge is a lively place for cocktails, happy hour and dining. The Pittsburgh restaurant also has a fantastic address right in the heart of the cultural district and just off market square.
